League Park Also

Here's my sketch of the ticket office at League Park. When the park was rebuilt in concrete and steel in 1910, this building already existed, and the rest of the park was planned around it. I only got this one sketch in, as it was the day of Parade the Circle and I didn't want to miss that.

League Park is the only existing ex major league ballpark from this era. It'll be exciting to see what they come up with for its next chapter.

  1. My father saw Babe Ruth play at League Park in 1929. He talked about it all the time. What a great idea to restore the park! It would not only maintain a piece of Cleveland history but also add a needed green space to the area. A small Central Park to the rather congested area. My father, Art Broze', was the Tribe organist at Municipal Stadium from 1974 to 1978. He played for the beer riot and all! He loved being there. He always wanted to be a professional baseball player, but instead got to the Big Leagues as a musician. Signed, Art's daughter, Diane
